Episode 68 - How to change your life in the smartest possible way

Welcome to this episode of the managing the smart mind podcast with Master Certified Coach Else Kramer, a.k.a. Coach Kramer.

Hello wonderfully smart human,

This week I’m sharing a series of short and sweet podcast Episode to give you a taste of what it is like inside my new membership program, Shamelessly Smart.

Which, of course, you want to join - but more about that later.

Let’s talk about changing your life first.

Most of us aren’t 100% delighted and want to change - which is a good thing.

The problem is that, with our smart minds, we can think of a gazillion things we could change - and a gazillion ways to change them.

Gazillion * gazillion does NOT equal success - it equals overwhelm and inaction.

So yes, you are going to have to focus.

You already know this but you hate the idea of having to ‘choose and lose’, as in, lose all the gazillion minus one possibilities you were also considering.

If you stay in this way of thinking, constantly thinking about all the things you want to change, and then paralysing yourself with possibility, you’re not going to get very far.

You know this too.

So what DOES work?

Finding the lever.

Finding the ONE THING that will have the biggest impact.

The most leverage.

And then single-mindedly pursuing that ONE THING.

This is what we’ll do in Shamelessly Smart - but here’s a simplified version of doing this which can already make a massive difference.

First, think about how you want your life to be different in 12 months' time.

Do you want to have a different job?

A consistent flow of clients?

To have sold enough art to pay the rent and to keep you in art supplies for at least another 5 years?

And what do you want your day-to-day to look like? How is that going to be different from the way it is today?

Maybe you want to start delegating the tasks you suck at so you can focus on work that matters.

Or you want to reduce the amount of hours you work in your day job.

Or maybe you want to be free to focus on serving clients rather than marketing on social media all the time.

Make a list if all the ways you want your life to be different in twelve months?

And then ask the million-dollar question:

If I could only focus on ONE thing, what would most help me make these changes?

I’ll give you my example from a year ago to get your brain going.

A year ago, I wanted to:

  • Have a structured way of learning and integrating new knowledge to better serve my clients;

  • Reach a lot more people;

  • Build out my reputation as an expert in my field;

  • Create content that could serve as the backbone for a book;

  • Change the way we talk and think about being smart;

  • Commit to regularly producing unique and innovative content;

  • Help the right clients find me.

Now notice that my focus wasn’t on generating more money for my business - I wanted to invest in other things, trusting that with those, the money would come.

What was the ONE thing I decided on?

You’re listening to it right now.

It was to create a podcast.

And not only have I achieved all my objectives - there have been so many more incredibly fun, useful, and valuable byproducts from publishing an Episode every week.

Working on my podcast for 12 months has exponentially improved my life and my business.

You can do the same.

Find that ONE thing.

Create a strategy to achieve it.

Start - and keep going until it’s done.

Shamelessly Smart is designed to help you do exactly this.

It’s a small investment with a massive impact.

And you’re going to be in great company.

So go to www.coachkramer.org/shamelessly-smart to sign up and change your life in the smartest possible way.

Have a wonderful Wednesday.
